Getting Back into Game Jams

It's been a while since I've actually finished (or at least attempted to) a game project. I wish I could say I've been studying game design and all that, but it's unfortunately not true. However, this is a good start for me, so that hopefully in the near future I'll feel a bit more comfortable making a dream game. I still need to work on my game polishing skills, sprite creating, smoothness, flow, soundtrack, consistency, choosing the right fonts, and focusing on better programming skills. There's probably more to focus on later, but I'll save it for the next game jam (when I do participate, hopefully next month).

As for the actual game I created here, I had a bunch of other ideas, but I didn't have enough time to implement them into the game. I had a whole new scoring system, particle effects, better sound effects, variety in gameplay, but it was all out of my scope. If I feel like coming back to develop this game (probably not, it's a one off for me) I may be able to put more polish to make it look like a real game. Even though I am disappointed with the final result, I can definitely see a bit of improvement from my other game jams that I've finished. I wouldn't say it's my best work, but I did put all of my effort into this project. If you're still reading, thanks! You can check out the finished result here: Delivery Duck
