GMKT 2020 Game Jam Experience
After completing my second two-day game jam, I've realized the importance of knowing what you want to aim for from the start. Throughout this experience, I've been jumping from idea to idea, testing if that's the game I wanted to make. I had some ideas that I thought were good, but I had to scrap them due to the scope of them. It really doesn't help that I spent one day just thinking of one idea and implementing it into a prototype before realizing that I didn't really want to go that route.
In the end, if you don't dedicate yourself to a project, you'll end up with a crappy project with the one I've ended up with today. I know that this is coming out a good 10-12 hours before the deadline, but I'm too defeated to create anything else. I really learnt that I need to hone in on my skills and actually practice them to implement them in my projects. I might do one more game jam before I start my major project, but I'm unsure right now. I might actually continue my big project and hope for the best. Maybe later on I can improve my workflow and workstation.
Go check out the terrible project I made, leave any criticisms if you want.
